Fiona Ross – Director & Lead Practioner

We are delighted to announce Fiona Ross as the lead Shakespeare practitioner for the Montague Shakespeare Festival. With over two decades of association with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) at Stratford-upon-Avon, Fiona’s expertise and passion for Shakespeare’s works are unparalleled.

Her tenure at the RSC has seen her lead national and international projects, imparting her knowledge and enthusiasm for Shakespeare across the globe—from Bangkok to the Cayman Islands and New York. Her dynamic approach has enabled actors, community groups, and educators to engage deeply with Shakespeare’s texts, fostering a profound appreciation and understanding of his works.

As an associate practitioner, Fiona’s leadership in onstage events has been exemplary, directing scenes with RSC actors in productions like “Faustus,” “White Devil,” “Volpone,” and “As You Like It.” Her directorial prowess extends beyond Shakespeare, with notable works including “After Life” at the Birmingham Conservatoire and “All’s Well That Ends Well” at Bath Spa Productions. Fiona’s role at the festival involves directing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” promising to bring fresh insights and a unique vision to this beloved classic. Additionally, her workshops are designed to inspire and educate, offering participants a rare opportunity to learn from a seasoned RSC practitioner.
